FROM OUR FRIENDS AT WINTER WILDLANDS ALLIANCE (An Outdoor Alliance partner) regarding Public Lands policy and what you can do now to shape it.
On March 13 President Trump issued an executive order aimed at eliminating or privatizing federal programs, functions and agencies. This affects all of the public lands agencies and could have serious consequences for public lands management, which as we know is already deeply, chronically underfunded. In mid-May the Office of Management and Budget launched a 28 day comment period in response to this executive order with comments due June 12th. Although this is an extremely important comment period we know that most people do not have the capacity to respond to it given the concurrent efforts to defend national monuments. Therefore, we have worked with a coalition other public lands advocacy organizations to develop sign-on letters from various constituencies that call for increased investment in conservation and recreation programs within the land management agencies.
Winter Wildlands Alliance is spearheading the effort to get outdoor industry businesses to sign on to a business-focused letter. Our goal is to get as many companies and businesses as possible signed on to the letter and we’re trying to make signing on as easy as possible. The letter is attached to this email and all you need to do to sign on is to sign up via this google form:

The deadline for signing on is June 7.
Please consider signing on and passing this along to other members of the outdoor industry. If you have any questions please contact Hilary Eisen at Winter Wildlands Alliance: heisen@winterwildlands.org
