Earlier this month I participated in a ‘Blab’, hosted by my good friends over at New Normal Consulting. Moderated expertly by Kristin Carpenter-Ogden of Living Uber and Verde Communications, the Blab circled around one of my favorite topics… Climbing. Specifically the place where rock gyms meet a non-outdoorsy public. What a great opportunity for the outdoor industry to meet some ‘non-usual’ suspects, and turn ’em into responsible outdoor recreationists (#Outdoorist in training).
Hear from Daniel Chancellor (SoIll Climbing), Brad Werntz (Boulders Rock Gym/NNC), Kristen and myself on the topic here. What do you think about this burgeoning indoor climbing scene?
I’ve noticed quite the swell in retail floor space in the newest climbing gyms being opened. Anyone else got a feeling for this? Would love to hear/see observations from around the country on this trend.
